Dr. Bill Piskorowski, DDS

Dr. Bill Piskorowski is a highly accomplished dentist and visionary leader. His career has been defined by a commitment to improving access to dental care, with remarkable success in community-based clinical education. Dr. Piskorowski's impact extends beyond academia, as he leads the way in bridging connections between educational institutions and practice models through his role as CEO and Founder of Academic Clinically Engaged Solutions for Health (ACES Health).

  • Dr. Bill Piskorowski holds a DDS from Loyola University, Chicago, IL and practiced dentistry from 1979 to 2006, which he left to take a full time position at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry as Director of Outreach and Community Affairs. As Asst. Dean for Community-Based Dental Education, he grew the program from a 3week experience for dental students at 4 external sites with 8 preceptors in 2006 to a maximum of 12 weeks of experience with over 39 sites and 117 credentialed preceptors. The Community-Based Clinical Education Program (CBCE) during his 11year directorship, delivered 45 million dollars in dental services to over 250,000 patients. The extern experiences included rotations at Federally Qualified Health Centers, Private Practices, Tribal and Indian Health Service Clinics, Mobile Clinics, Correctional Facilities, Local and State Supported Clinics, Community-Based Outpatient Clinics for Veterans and Veteran Hospitals, Donated Service Programs and most recently, Dental Service/Support Organizations (DSOs). Connected to this growth was also the creation of a one-of-a-kind nationally recognized program that was financially self-sustaining. In 2013 he received the prestigious William J. Gies Award for Outstanding Innovation by a Dental Educator as recognition of his achievements in this area and in 2014 the recipient of the Emmett C. Bolden Dentist Citizen of the Year Award from the Michigan Dental Association. In 2017 he was recognized for Innovation in HealthCare Award by the Hamilton Community Health Network at their 35th Anniversary Celebration Banquet, Bringing Oral Health Care Services to underserved populations of Flint, Michigan. On 03.29.2023, D. Piskorowski was honored by the Association of Dental Support Organization (ADSO) at the inaugural awards ceremony in Austin, Texas for Innovation, “Bridging the Gap between Dental Schools and DSOs through Communkty-based Clinical Education Rotations.

    Dr. Piskorowski is passionate about access to care issues for those less fortunate and has delivered numerous presentations to state legislators and component dental societies regarding the school’s community involvement. Recently retiring from UofM and saluted by the regents with the honor of Clinical Associate Professor Emeritus of Dentistry. Dr. Piskorowski left his program on solid ground, in order to further enhance student’s education and access to care for vulnerable populations in California. As Associate Dean for Community-Based Clinical Education, Health Science Clinical Professor at UCLA with his Community-Based Clinical Education Team have implemented a 6 week service learning program for 4th year dental students and residents with plans for expansion.

    Expansion plans include more service weeks as well as incorporating an interprofessional health model with other health disciplines at our external locations. This innovative service model now exists at several universities with others considering the template for their student service learning programs.

    To further expand relationships with educational institutions and practice models, Dr. Piskorowski with his team will continue to bridge their efforts through Academic Clinically Engaged Solutions for Health (ACES Health) as CEO and Founder.

Dr. Rachel Greene, DDS

Dr. Rachel Greene, a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, is an experienced leader in community-based dental education. With over thirteen years of expertise, she is passionate about improving access to care for vulnerable populations. Dr. Greene's roles include overseeing the Service Learning Rotation Program at UWSOD and contributing to outreach program development. She specializes in teaching community-based dental care, dental practice management, and pediatric dentistry. Additionally, she maintains a part-time private practice in Snohomish, Washington.

Cindy Piskorowski, RDH

Cindy Piskorowski is a graduate of Loyola University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene Education. She is a practicing Dental Hygienist with experience in general and pedodontic dentistry. Her path in dentistry has opened other opportunities for her in the dental arena with titles as Business and Office Manager. She has a passion for health and educating her patients.
